Interjections have a content of a procedural nature and meaning often depends largely on the circumstances surrounding the act of enunciation. The complexity of the factors affecting the use of the interjections and the determination of their exact value makes the translation of these linguistic units from one language to another a very difficult task. In the case of Arabic, the situation of diglossia living this language compounds the problem. In this study, we analyze the semantic values with which the interjection "ah" is used in standard peninsular Spanish, and the problems that their translation into Arabic may entail. To do this, we will build on the analysis of thirteen plays in Spanish and their respective translations into Arabic. In this study, we adopt a pragmatic perspective.
