Aims and Scope

The contemporary world is witnessing tremendous growth in academic research across all disciplines, both in terms of quantity and quality. This research boom necessitates a parallel surge in academic publishing to ensure its accessibility to all researchers. To address this need, the Cairo University Centre for Foreign Languages and Professional Translation (CLT) has launched the "Hermes" journal, a peer-reviewed publication dedicated to the humanities.

Hermes aims to publish original research that significantly contributes to the humanities and culture field. By providing a platform for humanities scholars, the journal facilitates the dissemination of research findings and fosters intellectual exchange among researchers in the Arab world and beyond.

Specific objectives include:

  1. Enhancing the centre's role: To deepen the centre's contribution to cultural and academic life, particularly through the publication of the first specialised humanities journal at the national level.
  2. Fostering intercultural dialogue: Establishing a relationship of cognitive and creative interaction between Arab and global cultures through publishing topics that serve this objective. Priority will be given to those topics.
  3. Promoting interdisciplinary research: Establishing a platform for intellectual and cultural creativity across various fields of human knowledge, thereby achieving a form of communication between multiple domains and diverse areas of knowledge.
